Effective August 1, 2024:
The Partridge Bridge on Route 126 over the Sheepscot River is being considered for posting to 25 TONS, due to the load rating of the structure. Bridge maintenance, through the Department’s inspection program, is responsible for inspecting and load rating bridge structures. The condition has reached a point which was determined to require action from the posting committee. The bridge was built in 1935. The factored AADT is 2170 vehicles. A bridge improvement project (WIN 028078.00) for Preliminary Engineering Only was included in the 2024 MaineDOT Work Plan.
The proposed detour route will follow Cooper Road (State Aid), Route 17 (State Highway) and Route 218 (State Aid) and has a total abutment to abutment length of ~14.3 miles.
